What entry methods can I use at the door?
Proximity card, wristband, a QR code generated in the member app, or a PIN. They all work in parallel on the same turnstile, and a lost card is blocked instantly and reissued in seconds.
Will the turnstile open if the membership has expired?
No. The system validates the membership in real time before unlocking and stops entry if it is expired, suspended or frozen, displaying the reason clearly so the member goes to the front desk.
Can I limit an Off-peak membership to certain hours?
Yes. Each membership type has its own permitted window. An Off-peak membership will not open the barrier after the hour you set, with no need for the front desk to intervene.
Can the gym operate 24/7 without staff?
Yes. With access tied to memberships, the gym can stay open during unstaffed hours. You see how many members are inside in real time, enforce the capacity limit and get alerts on repeated refused entries or a gate left open.
How do I stop several people using the same card?
The system detects the passback pattern — the same membership trying to enter again without having exited — blocks the entry and flags it to the front desk for a check.
What do I see in the attendance log?
Who came in, at what time, through which gate and how long they stayed. From that you learn your real peak hours, the average visit length and, most usefully, the members who have not been in for weeks and are at risk of not renewing.
Does attendance data comply with GDPR?
Yes. It is personal data: members are informed at sign-up, the data is kept only as long as necessary, access is role-based, and reports can be used anonymised when you only need statistics.
Do I actually need a turnstile?
No. You can start with a reader at the front desk that validates the membership and records attendance, then add the turnstile or an electromagnetic door lock when you want unstaffed opening hours.
